Purpose of the role

Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board of Directors at a leading construction and real estate company, leading the financial strategy that sustains the growth of the project pipeline, optimizes the capital structure and protects profitability and liquidity across multi-year construction cycles. The role goes beyond financial control: it is a business decision-making position connecting corporate strategy with the viability and return of each project.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and execute the corporate financial strategy aligned with the expansion plan and project portfolio.
  • Lead the financial structuring of new projects: modeling, IRR/NPV evaluation, definition of funding sources and financial close.
  • Manage relationships with corporate banking, fiduciary firms, funds and investors, and negotiate credit lines and financing vehicles (standalone trusts, real estate trusts, leasing).
  • Manage working capital and cash flow per project and consolidated, anticipating liquidity needs over long execution cycles.
  • Define investment, debt and surplus distribution policy, ensuring a sustainable capital structure.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting and management control by project and business unit.
  • Ensure tax, accounting (IFRS) and corporate governance compliance, as well as comprehensive financial risk management.
  • Provide financial intelligence for land acquisition decisions, alliances, joint ventures and new businesses.

Role KPIs

  • Net margin and EBITDA per project and consolidated.
  • IRR and NPV of structured projects vs. target.
  • Weighted average cost of capital (WACC) and leverage level.
  • Working capital days and projected cash flow accuracy.
  • Covenant compliance and on-time financial closes.
  • Return on invested capital (ROIC).

Required profile

  • Strategic vision of finance as a business enabler, not just a control function.
  • Mastery of the structuring and financing of construction and real estate projects.
  • Strong relationships within the Colombian financial and fiduciary sector.
  • Financial modeling capability and long-term investment analysis.
  • Leadership of finance teams and ability to communicate the financial agenda to the Board of Directors.
  • Results orientation with a focus on profitability, liquidity and risk mitigation.
